/ɒ/        à        hot, got, socks
/e/        à        bed, bread, breakfast
/ǽ/       à        cat, man, hat


  1. /eɪ/       à        day, way, eight
/ǝʊ/     à        go, hello, phone
/aɪ/       à        my, fly, high
/aʊ/      à        now, house, cow
/ɔɪ/      à        boy, noise, enjoy
/ɪǝ/      à        near, hear, fear
/eǝ/      à        where, there, hair
/ʊǝ/     à        tour, sure, pure           

B. Practice to pronounce the following sentences!
  1. a bear is combing his hair.
  2. a fly is wearing a tie.
  3. a cow is making a bow.
  4. a boy is holding a toy.
  5. a deer is drinking a beer.
  6. a crow is saying hello.
  7. Mr. Gray is asking the way.
  8. Are you going to sell that boat? – Are you going to sail that boat?
  9. Do you want some papers? – Do you want some pepper?
  10. Can you test it? -- Can you taste it?
